Overview:

GSA Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies (IDT), formerly known as GSA IT Office of Enterprise Infrastructure Operations, is part of the GSA Office of Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO). IDT implements, operates, maintains, and supports GSA’s IT infrastructure Software/Hardware (SW/HW) and systems, GSA’s mission-support systems, and applications. IDT covers the complete set of service offerings using a brokerage model. IDT provides services which include, but are not limited to:

1. IT service desk and on-site support.
2. End-user device management.
3. Conference and collaboration support.
4. Network and telecommunications support.
5. Unified communications.
6. Compute/storage and cloud management.
7. Identity, credential, and access management.

This position requires a Public Trust (SECRET) and is located in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

 Highlights of responsibilities:

• Be part of the Transition-in Team to transition operations from incumbent to NCI and then fulfill duties as the Computer Systems Engineer/Architect on the program.
• Draft system support requirements documentation.
• Direct and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases.
• Perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex capabilities that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
• Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results.
• Provide Tier III sustainment support during migration and implementation of tech refresh life cycle.
• Provide operational engineering support for the Configuration Management (CM) process in support of routine patching, synchronization with Govenment and day-to-day operational issues.
• Support planning, architecture, technical integration, project management, engineering, testing, training, coordination, implementation, and technical support in the Army Enterprise.
• Apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
• Provides consulting services to members of the professional staff and to the customer in the analysis and design of data processing systems, management systems, scientific systems, and other related areas
• Makes technical decisions on kinds of data to be gathered and methods to be used in data collection and analysis
• Provides technical direction, guidance, and assistance to assigned projects, suggesting efficient approaches and methods for solving problems
• Develops analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solution
• Prepares and presents written and oral reports
• Prepares and presents proposals, or portions thereof, primarily in field of specialty
• Analyzes, diagnoses, and recommends solutions to complex problems
• Serves as principal analyst for research project
• Develops advanced concepts of automation and information processing, display, control, and transfer for various subsystems
• Conducts research and analysis of algorithms and defines data structures that lead to highly efficient system design parameters
• Performs related work as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Required Clearance is US Public Trust.
• Security+
• ITIL 4
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT with seven (7) years practical experience or twelve (12) years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree required in Engineering or computer science degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 7-12 years' relevant experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Google Cloud Professional Collaboration Engineer Experience or Certification
• Experience in the following areas: Active Directory and Directory Services, Intermediate Network Management, Microsoft Virtualization, VMware Virtualization, Server/Desktop Hardware (e.g. Dell, HP), Microsoft and Red Hat Linux System Administration (SA) and Engineering.
• Skills and expertise in the following technologies: SQL/XSQL Server Administrator (SA), MAC O/S and security, Information Assurance (IA), IP Data Networking and Vulnerability Assessment product engineering and design, IP network vulnerability scanner Tier 3 support, REM 3.X / Retina 5.X and greater, ACAS Security Center 4.X / Nessus 5.X or greater and HP Tenable Nessus products.
• Recent experience with leading successful improvement projects in an agile environment for organizations similar in size to GSA.
• Minimum of three years of experience analyzing customer requirements and providing assistance with requirements development similar in size, scope, and complexity.
• Recent experience delivering emergent technologies to complex business solutions for stakeholders from multiple disciplines.
• Current Information Assurance (IA) certification (required at performance start date): IAT III (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, CCNP Security). IA Certification Category and Level (IAW DoD 8570.10-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002)
• Current Computing Environment (CE) certification (attainable within 6 months of performance start date): Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Tenable Certified Security Engineer (TCSE) certification
