Responsibilities

NCI: As the GEF O&M Systems Engineer - Mission you will support the Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) Operations and Maintenance contract. GEF falls under NETCOM Army Enterprise’s DoDIN operations and services provider, executing full-spectrum cyber operations and attaining information superiority, and achieving an integrated network enterprise across the Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational (JIIM) domains. NETCOM plans, engineers, installs, integrates, operates, protects, and sustains Army Cyberspace, enabling Mission Command through all phases of unified action operations with all mission partners across the JIIM domains. NETCOM is the single authority assigned to operate, manage, and defend the Army’s “InfoStructure” at the enterprise level and the single authority for any standard, system, architecture, design, or device that impacts the Army Enterprise Infostructure. NCI will support all NETCOM managed Army DoDIN enclaves including NIPR, SIPR, Coalition Network Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIX) –Korea (CX-K), Mobilization and Force Generation Installation (MFGI) Mission Partner Environment (MPE), and tactical network integrations. NCI will provide services defined in the contract, including capability management, project integration, process development, Information Assurance (IA), cybersecurity, configuration management (CM), hardware/software support, as well as support functions such as database policy definition, requirements development and management and technical writing.

 

GEF O&M Systems Engineer - Mission

  • Support the Government’s design, development, implementation, operations and maintenance requirements for GEF, supporting NETCOM-wide business processes, automation requirement, and information technology management requirements in all NETCOM managed Army DoDIN sites.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation, workflows, documentation, and processes based on Government requirements.
  • Administer, operate, and maintain the enterprise GEF virtualized management plane via the application of STIGs, patches, templated VM development & deployment, backups, snapshots, break-fix, incident response, service request response and other system operations functions.
  • Provide and reinforce security of all assigned systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information and business processes.
  • Using privileged level access, maintain and troubleshoot database resources, such as memory allocation and server node balancing on all NETCOM managed Army DoDIN systems.
  • Support migrations of systems and applications from one hosting site to another.
  • Provide technical guidance for enterprise systems that affect the mission-essential operations of the Army’s LWN and segments of the DoDIN.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and recommend solutions to complex systems problems. Provide technical advice and assistance to assigned projects and suggest efficient approaches and methods to resolve problems.
  • Extensive experience in design, deployment and administration of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems.
  • Additional skills are in Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM), working knowledge of system provisioning, network connection requirements, and methods to connect a remote Mission Network Access Kiosk (MNAK) to CENTRIXS POP, GEF-N-S-M transport between theaters of multiple CENTRIXS and Classified POPs both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Design and deploy Microsoft Enterprise products and tools to ensure NetOps capability integration in support of the classified missions on mission networks such as CENTRIXS and SIPRNET networks. Examples of Microsoft Enterprise products and tools are Active Directory, Exchange, SCOM, SCCM, WSUS, and KMS.
  • Practical knowledge of WAN acceleration technologies such as Riverbed products and hands-on experience with KG-175 and KG-250 series of National Security Agency (NSA) encryptors in classified and coalition networks and working knowledge of management software such as GEM X and ViaSat VINE Manager.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education & Experience: BA 7 - 12 years
  • Clearance: Secret
  • IA Certification: IAT-II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
  • CE Certification: MCSA or CCNA or VCP or equivalent
