Responsibilities

For an innovative federal government agency, NCI is seeking a UX/UI Specialist responsible for a wide range of engineering activities and associated work products including user research and design exercises, product wireframe development, and prototype development following a user-centered design approach. You will be part a highly talented, dynamic development team that will be using a set of open source and cloud-based technologies to modernize and consolidate an operational environment under a common technology framework. You will apply Agile best practices to collaborate and participate in creating user stories for business functionality, technical requirements, and defining acceptance criteria to ensure the delivery of leading UX/UI solutions.

 

HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop UX/UI solutions using a user-centered design
  • Perform user interviews, brainstorming sessions, and design sessions to understand user requirements
  • Demonstrated visual designs into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Identify, analyze and define the information architecture, design system, design patterns, page layouts/templates, and user-interface components for web interfaces
  • Develop adaptive and responsive UX/UI wireframes for web-based applications
  • Develop UX/UI solutions that are compliant with 508 and U.S. Web Design System standards
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple simultaneous high priorities a must

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or Visual Communications
  • 4 years of experience in the Information Technology field focusing on engineering projects with specific Business and UX Design
  • 3 years of experience with architecture & design and providing UX Design for enterprise applications
  • Experience with large scale, high-performance enterprise application deployment and UX Design on complex heterogeneous environments 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Certification(s) in appropriate UX/UI technologies
  • Experience transforming large, government programs to the cloud
  • Written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of management/tracking utilities such as JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Sitting for long periods
  • Ambulate throughout an office
  • Ambulate between several buildings
