Responsibilities

 

NCI: As a Systems Engineer II supporting Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN/ACEM). The JFHQ-DODIN requires support in the following areas: Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), Endpoint Security, and Information Assurance. Location of work: Fort Meade, MD. You will support the ARCYBER command in providing Systems Engineering Support to technical and programmatic Information Assurance (IA) support for network and information security systems. You will be part of a team that: Designs, develops and implement security requirements; Prepares documentation from information obtained using accepted guidelines (e.g., DITSCAP, RMF, etc.); Prepares Security Test and Evaluation plans and provides C&A support; Analyzes policies and procedures against established laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps; Develops and completes system security and contingency plans; Develops, tests, and integrates security tools; Conducts security program audits and develops solutions to lessen identified risks; Evaluates, develops and enhances security requirements, policy and tools; Performs vulnerability assessments including development of risk mitigation strategies; and Mentors mid-level and junior staff.

Work supports: The Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN) requires support in the following areas: Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), Endpoint Security, and Information Assurance.

Intelligence Support Operations:

  • Provide for a more granular and wide-reaching understanding of the cyber terrain that constitutes the DODIN network. 
  • Support intelligence collection from and with ACEM/Tanium. 
  • Leverage Tanium/ACEM data/sensor elements to support intelligence queries of the system and provide data answers for the ten automatic federated reporting categories - managed assets, unmanaged assets, operating systems, hardware, software, security tools, risk compliance, user activity, web server management and email - that assist with forecasting how malicious cyber actors attempt to target, exploit and operate within the DODIN.
  • Experience with one or all of the following capabilities: Juniper, Cisco, Mellanox switches, RedHat.
  • Conduct analysis of Tanium/ACEM data as prioritized by JFHQ-DODIN Priority Intelligence Requirements and associated Essential Elements of Information.
  • Provide enriched intelligence reporting Develop, coordinate and brief finalized fused intelligence products to JFHQ-DODIN leaders and external cyber audiences, as well as the broader Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Generate requests for endpoint data outside of standardized queries to fulfill current operations objectives.
  • Gather and analyze endpoint data from across JFHQ-DODIN’s span of control (Areas of Operation and Sectors) through DOD Component (Combatant Command, Service, Agency, and Field Activity) endpoint management systems in order to inform a Joint Operations Area (JOA) common operating picture (COP).
  • Coordinate with JFHQ-DODIN partner organizations to distribute, receive, and conduct analysis on vulnerability and threat information that impacts the DODIN.
  • Review, analyze, track, and document vulnerabilities and outages and recommend deconfliction, resolution, and corrective measures.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • DoD 8570:
    • Must comply with DOD 8570.01M CSSP Analyst expertise (CEH, CFR, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER)
    • Must comply with DOD 8570.01M IAM Level III expertise (CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO)
  • HS 11+ Years or BA/BA 7+ Years or MA/MS 3+ Years
  • Top Secret SCI

Preferred:

  • Experience with one or all of the following capabilities: Juniper, Cisco, Mellanox switches, RedHat.
