NCI: As the Communications Technician, you will coordinate with customer leaders to develop and then implement operational strategic broadcast messages to the Joint Service Provider supported communities of interest.  You will work with leaders to develop direct and informative communications announcements that ensure the JSP’s customer base is and remains properly informed about on-going and upcoming events or opportunities.  In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments..

Highlights of Responsibilities:


  • Participate in customer leadership discussions to understand the desired message to be related to the affected customer base
  • Develop clear and concise customer communications that effectively deliver the intended message to the targeted community
  • Facilitate the capture of customer thoughts or messages and redraft them in to meaningful direct, informative publications or announcements
  • Ability to identify a specific set or targeted group(s) of customers for specific messages or announcements
  • Work with our customer to gain approval to release intended announcements or publications
  • Comply with the internal work processes to meet our customers publication or announcement timelines/deadlines
  • Work with team members to effectively keep team informed of on-going activities
  • Participate in all end user community communications in the Strategic communications SharePoint site
  • Follow and support regularly scheduled and adhoc communications utilize appropriate communications or publishing channels to reach the target audience
  • Follow best practices catalog of communications processes to assist in quickly and effectively gather leaders messages and assist in delivering that content to the total or select JSP communities




  • Clearance Required: US Department of Defense (DOD) issued Secret clearance
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical abilities regarding the delivery of customer messages.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and support the diverse needs of a large organization
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Required Experience: 2 or more years of professional experience in a Customer communications role
  • Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent,


Physical Requirements: 


This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Ambulate throughout an office
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
  • Lift and carry weight up to 50 pounds (on as needed basis)
