    Assists, defines, and/or oversees database organization, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation for the cyber center contract. Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment. Develops applications to help solve database solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases. Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Maintains database dictionaries and integrates systems through database design.

    1. Maintains and documents shell scripts and batch processes. Ensures that documentation is complete and up-to-date.
    2. Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup.
    3. Provides Oracle Database Administration support, in a team environment, for multiple large databases in a large, enterprise environment. Test, install, and maintain software. Maintain and monitor database servers.
    4. Provides server administration and Oracle Database Backup and Recovery using RMAN. Provide Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) Administration. Provide SQL Server Database Administration.
    5. Assist application DBAs/developers and end-users with the resolution of problems related to Oracle, SQL and Sybase database.



    • Education: Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Science or Business Administration or Mathematics. Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of specialized experience, or an associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, or a major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, or 11 years of specialized experience.

    • Certifications: Database Specific Certification (e.g. Oracle/SQL) and DoD 8570.01 M, IAT Level III Baseline Certification.

    • Clearance: Secret clearance (NACLC).

    • Specialized Experience: Four years of experience using, developing, and maintaining computer database software such as Oracle, MS SQL, or SYBASE. Four years maintaining server-based database instances. Two years of experience with UNIX or Microsoft server-based platforms. Two years direct experience with US military command and control or commercial LAN/WAN communication systems.
