    Responsibilities

    NCI: As the Systems Engineer ( Systems Engineer II ), you will be responsible for planning and engineering of an organization's system infrastructure. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

     

    Highlights of Responsibilities:

    • Monitor the performance of systems and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Plan, implement and design of hardware and software.
    • Utilize standard AFNET concepts, practices and procedures.
    • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Provide recommendation on product or vendor support strategies that provide more effective and more affordable support for the AF system/networks.
    • Assist the PMO in developing support strategies by performing analyses of, and making recommendations on, AF system/network support issues.
    • Track component End of Support (EOSu), End of Sale (EOS), and End of Life (EOL) for TO controlled SW and HE elements of the AF systems/networks and document findings in an Obsolescence Report.
    • Prepare and present system/network efficiency and performance reports.
    • Gather metrics and analytics on portions of the AF system/networks architecture and topology to identify network stability, reliability, security, and inefficiency issues for both TO controlled and non-TO controlled system/networks.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Active DoD Secret clearance
    • At least one of the following certifications: ITIL v3, IAT II, Security+
    • 4 years minimum network and/or systems engineering experience on AFNet-related systems
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
