    Responsibilities

    NCI: As a Release Manager (Project Manager III), you will operate as part of the RCMS team, implementing and deploying application software modifications for a large web-enable data-driven warehouse supporting the U.S. Army's National Guard Bureau. You will be a hands-on contributor in the development of new and updated capabilities based on client requirements, creating and driving processes along the way. The Release Manager is also responsible for scheduling and managing deployments of changes to meta-data tables, databases, and web applications to be conducted in the production environment. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

     

     

    Highlights of Responsibilities:

    • Works independently and as part of the team scheduling/managing/controlling/documenting the deployment of software and meta data changes to interactive Web sites, applications, and services for both internal and public sites.
    • Utilizes the ITIL model to assist the team in developing deployment consistency.
    • Develops procedures for accomplishing the deployment of new and modified web or application capability.
    • Develop common strategies for release governance across multiple departments.
    • Establish consistent release management processes.
    • Facilitate cross-department coordination of release management functions.
    • Track an enterprise-wide release calendar.
    • Inform senior management of enterprise-wide exposure to release risk and effectively mitigate it.
    • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the entire software portfolio.
    • Create common standards and formats for release playbooks and work with production control to standardize release decision-making.
    • Define common mechanisms for rollback and standards for capturing release-related performance indicators.
    • Forecast demand for release resources and identify opportunities for greater efficiency across the enterprise.

    Qualifications

    Requirements: 

    • Clearance (preferred at performance start date): active Interim Secret or Secret security clearance
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Engineering or equivalent related experience with at least six (6) years of software release management experience. 

     

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    •  ITIL Foundations certification
    •  COMPTIA Security + CE
