    NCI: As the VTC Technician, you will provide support for routine and moderately complex technical activities related to Internet Protocol, network administration and desktop equipment. You will maintain all internal and external systems, assist in development and maintenance, evaluate, install and support local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) hardware and software, and will ensure the information and data integrity of the Network Operations function. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments. 


    • Responsible for overall day-to-day executing, supporting, planning, coordinating, scheduling, promoting, and providing efficient and effective video teleconferencing (VTC) support
    • Ensures the proper maintenance, patching, upgrades and operation of all equipment
    • Support computer/video operations by using interfaces and networks to route signals to various conference rooms throughout the facility 
    • Provide operational technical support for multimedia conference rooms and video teleconferencing systems 
    • Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and operate a wide variety of audio/visual and video teleconferencing equipment related to conference rooms (including workstation software, microphones, production switchers, server equipment, audio mixers, sound speakers, video-data projectors, audio and video routers, distribution amplifiers, and other equipment that regulates the signal strength, clarity, and range of sounds and colors of recordings or live conferences to ensure optimal video and sound quality for conference rooms and audio/video requirements) 
    • Install cable connectors with specialized tools 
    • Connect equipment to T-1, ISDN, or other communications lines such as satellite downlink equipment, fiber optics transmitters and receivers, patch panels and test equipment 
    • Use computers along with MS Office and computer-aided design (CAD) software (Visio) 
    • Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records on all VTC equipment
    • Record significant events, maintenance problems, and accomplishments
    • Technical expertise on CISCO, Polycom, Vidyo, and Acano endpoints / soft clients
    • Technical expertise with Cisco Telepresence MCUs and Cisco Telepresence ISDN Gateways Technical expertise with Cisco Telepresence Management Suite (TMS)



    • Associate's Degree or equivalent related experience
    • Active Secret Clearance
    • CCENT within 6 moths of start date
    • IAT base line Certification (Security Plus CE or equivalent)
    • 2 -7 Years of experience
