    NCI: As a Functional Engineer, you will be supporting our PEO Soldier mission at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and will have an opportunity to make a difference in our Soldiers’ day-to-day lives. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.





    • Serve as an Engineer in the Technical Management Directorate of PM Soldier Protection and Individual Equipment. 
    • Evaluate and analyze data related to Soldier personal protective equipment, to include ballistic material testing, injury reports, and simulation of events in combat to ensure that there will be on hand at all times sufficient and current information to provide a ready, accurate, and complete response to any inquiry regarding engineering related issues from higher headquarters. 
    • Prepare results of analyses for reporting and/or briefing to the directorate leadership.




    • Active Secret security clearance.
    • Bachelors Degeree of Engineering (Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) AND 2 years experience 


    • Masters Degree of Engineering (Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) and 0 years experience.


    • Familiarity with JMP or other statistical analysis software.
    • Experience or coursework in R&D project management.
    • Experience with scientific data analysis in materials or material sciences.




    This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

    • Ambulate between several buildings
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
    • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 20 pounds
    • Travel by land or air transportation 5 %
