    Responsibilities

    NCI: As the Business Analyst, you will be part of a Project Management Office (PMO) team transforming the culture at a client to become more disciplined in basic project management concepts. You will become an expert in NCI’s proprietary project portfolio dashboard product working with clients and assisting them with using the product. You will participate in all aspects of the product lifecycle including training, documentation, new product features, testing, and release management. This is a great opportunity for mid-level Business Analyst wishing to advance their Business Analyst skills or looking to transition into a project management position in the future. This position is located in Bethesda, MD.

     

    Highlights of Responsibilities:

    • Assist with project management duties as needed and serve as a deputy to the program manager.
    • Become an expert in NCI’s project portfolio dashboard product:
      • Serve as the Business Analyst and Administrator of the product responding to client technical needs.
      • Participate in the operations, maintenance, and enhancements.
      • Write specifications for new product features/enhancements.
      • Assign tasks to developers and oversee their work.
      • Conduct testing of release components and coordinate releases.
      • Maintain documentation, including user manuals for the product.
    • Engage with stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and developers.
    • Capture meeting minutes and action items during meetings and perform basic follow-up.
    • Create weekly and monthly metric reports.
    • Facilitate project logistics such as meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, etc.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline.
    • 2-3 years of IT-related prior work experience.
    • At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a Business Analysts including conducting analysis for application development projects and testing.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Demonstrated analytical ability.
    • Ability to work autonomously and with personnel with diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.

     

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Advanced knowledge of Excel e.g., pivot tables.
    • Experience with JIRA or Confluence is a plus.
    • Experience with MS Project is desired.
