    Responsibilities

    NCI: As a Telecom Electronics Technician, you will provide ongoing electronics and infrastructure installation support for network systems LAN/WLAN upgrades in DoD Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF). Perform both physical installation and software configuration roles. This is a Full-Time telecommuting position that will require approx. 80% travel as needed. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

    Highlights of Responsibilities:
    • Experience with Cisco, Brocade, Juniper networking and Aruba and Cisco Wireless Controllers.
    • Responsible for CAT6 UTP/STP, fiber-optic cable installation, termination and testing. 
    • Perform installation of electronics and infrastructure support: updating and confirguring Cisco, Brocade, Juniper switches, Aruba and Cisco Wireless Controllers, racking and stacking switches, UPS, cable trays, ladders, innerduct systems, cabinets, racks. 
    • Perform as a member of the team to implement electronics and infrastructure support for network solutions. 
    • Prepares test reports and all other contract required survey and installation reports.
    • Assist in the development of the site survey and installation data documentation packages. 
    • Evaluate LAN/WLAN infrastructure designs to determine if customer requirements are met. 
    • Assist with any and all onsite tasks as assigned by the Site Lead.

    Qualifications

    Requirements
    • EDUCATION:  2 years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school or equivalent military school.
    • 10 years Network Administration Experience 
    • 10 years of experience with network routing and switching technology and Network Administration experience. 
    • Experience with Cisco, Brocade, Juniper networking hardware and software and Aruba and Cisco Wireless Controllers.
    • Current/active Secret clearance.
    • Ability to read, understand, and modify CAD Building Floor Plans and Network Systems drawings.
    • Ability to make sound technical decisions.
    • Preferred Education and Experience:
      - Familiar with U.S. Military Organizations. - CCNA and SEC+
    • Ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals.
