    Responsibilities

    NCI: As the Computer Security Specialist II, you will be responsiblle for assisting and carrying out all phases of computer security program, enabling company to meet contractual requirements for computer security. Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and computer security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

    • Assist carrying out all phases of computer security program, enabling company to meet contractual requirements for computer security.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and computer security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans.
    • Analyze and defines security requirements for Multilevel Security (MLS) issues.
    • Design, develops, engineers and implements solutions to MLS requirements.
    • Gather and organizes technical information about an origanization’s mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the MLS arena.
    • Perform risk analyses which also includes risk assessment.
    • Develop security standards.
    • Prepare materials for computer security education/awareness programs.
    • Conduct investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management.
    • Respond to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
    • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
    • Solid experience in monitoring, analyzing, and reacting to connectivity issues related to the firewalls.
    • Security Plus CE.
    • Secret Clearance.
    • Able to quickly understand new technologies and then apply them to current projects.
    • Good verbal and written communication and team skills.
    • Eligible for (or already possess) a high-level clearance.
    • 2 to 7 years of experience  

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • At least one (1) year of progressive hands-on experience as a LAN administrator within the Microsoft Windows OS family
    • At least one (1) year of experience of hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Cisco routers
    • At least two (2) years of related experience and training certification in Information Systems/Communication
    • At least two (2) years experience working with common Microsoft products
    • CASP or CISSP
