    Responsibilities

    NCI:  As a Logistics Item Manager you will provide logistics support to Project Manager Soldier Protection and Individual Equipment (PM SPIE) programs at Fort Belvoir, VA, with duty station at Philadelphia, PA.  You will have an opportunity to manage a portfolio of Soldier clothing and equipment and personal protective items.  In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission:  To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Conducts focused planning and analysis for all lifecycle management functions for assigned items. 
    • As an Item Manager, duties are as follows: 
      • coordination with outside entity sources to introduce a new/replacement item; 
      • Inputting multi-million dollar requisitions for Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI) buys into the Logistics Management Process system and ensuring Defense Logistics Agency-Troop Support (DLA-TS) has sufficient stock to fill each request;
      • provide assistance to the Ft Belvoir, VA Assistant Product Manager (APM) with directed support and first hand knowledge about their managed items and making recommendations on limited/no-buy efforts when items are being replaced in the inventory; 
      • Inputting catalog request items into the Standard Study Number-Line Item Number Automated Management and Integrating System (SLAMIS) for Sub Line Item Number/Non Standard Line Item Number ( SLIN/NSLIN) assignment and Material Change Number (MCN) requests;
      • drafting documents such as Basis of Issue (BOI) and sending to TRADOC for approval.  
    • Requesting National Stock Number (NSN) for new items being introduced to the Army from DLA-TS.
    • Provide Supply Request Packages (SRP) to DLA-TS. 
    • Attend multiple APM meetings and provide updates with the most current data available. 
    • Coordinate meetings with DLA-TS for Technical  Data Reviews (TDR) for new items. 
    • Travel is expected to be negligible.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Active Security Clearance: SECRET.
    • Experience within a military environment with product ordering and mananagement for items to be fielded to soldiers.
    • Experience with Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
    • Education and Experience requirements:
      • High School AND 20 yrs experience OR
      • Associates AND 16 yrs experience OR
      • Bachelor in non-directly field 15 yrs  experience OR
      • Bachelor in directly related field AND 10 yrs  experience OR
      • Masters in non-directly related field AND 10 yrs  experience OR
      • Masters in directly related field AND 7 yrs  experience
