    NCI: As the Database Administrator,  you will under limited supervision develop, implement, administer and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the comany database. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments



    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, database relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities
    • Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes
    • Resolves database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues
    • Installs and/or upgrades the mainframe product in the related environment
    • Tunes the various databases in both the production and the development environment
    • Installs/upgrades (or assists in the installation or upgrade) other and third products as needed
    • Assists in the testing of the new/upgraded software environment as well as the abilities to apply and test ZAPS
    • Provides troubleshooting to both system level problems and user problems
    • Modifies user exists as necessary to comply with new release specifications
    • Able to verify backups and perform restores as necessary




    Basic Qualifications:



    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
    • Experience in Design & Implementation; Statistical methods; Access time, device, allocation; Monitor standard procedures; System integration
    • 3-5 years experience.
    • Security Clearance: Secret
