    Responsibilities

    NCI: As a Software Test Automation Engineer who is passionate about automation and testing, you will provide testing solutions on a team of approximately 9 DevSecOps software engineers working with full stack (Java/Angular) cloud-based open source technologies in an Agile environment. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to identify, report, and troubleshoot defects to verify problem fixes in a detailed, efficient, and timely manner. You will be part of a team responsible for developing applications to support mission-critical functions for a Federal agency in our Washington, DC office. This is a great opportunity to create dynamic, state-of-the-art software applications utilizing cutting-edge DevSecOps technologies.


    In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

     

    • Work closely with their respective team, other teams, business analyst, technical leads, management lead and product managers to define the automated development components that will be used to validate requirements against developed software;
    • Execute automated testing on both web front end and back end systems (the ability to test at an API level such as via Web Services, JMS Queue, or other back end service is essential);
    • Perform test validations at various levels including DB validation, logging validation, and UI validation.
    • Work with business analyst and developers to define test scenarios and test cases for the evolving solution in accordance with the technical testing strategy.
    • Carry out all types of technical testing of the solution as a whole including creating test cases, plans, and logs
    • Implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

     

    • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust security clearance.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related, equivalent experience.
    • 2 years of experience as s Solutions Tester or Automation Engineer with increasing testing responsibilities.
    • Prior working experience leading large scale federal IT software development projects.
    • 2 years of related development experience in Agile team environment with Java (Spring, Hibernate)
    • Prior working experience with Agile Lifecycle Management Tools (JIRA).
    • Prior working experience with Functional Testing, Security, Integration Testing, System Acceptance Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases.
    • Prior working experience with Agile industry best practices, to include version control, automated builds, automated testing, and continuous integration.
    • Prior working experience with test automation, quality, and performance tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, SonarQube SauceLabs, BlazeMeter.

     

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related, equivalent experience.
    • 5 years of software testing experience within the Federal Government.
    • Certified Section 508 Accessibility DHS Trusted Tester.
