    Responsibilities

    NCI:  As a Security Specialist IV, you will support the US Army Acquisition Support Center in Ft Belvoir, VA.You will serve as a highly-skilled and productive team member to achieve Army-wide audit readiness objectives by maintaining a focus on achieving business functionality via existence and completeness testing in cooperation with Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, logistics, and Technology). In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.  

     

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

     

    • The candidate modifies computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.
    • Performs risk assessments and executes tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures
    • Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs
    • Initiates, implements and develops information security and disaster discovery programs in accordance with organizational information security standards
    • Performs and evaluates information risk on a regular time schedule and promotes information security awareness within the organization
    • Organizes and directs work, coordinates efforts related to a DoD client’s security and program protection operations team and responsibility for that program.
    • Supports the client by providing security expertise and hands-on experience within one or more security disciplines, including personnel, physical, anti-terrorism (AT), industrial, operations security, classification management, information security, and foreign disclosure. Applies analytical principles and practices, research, and technical support in the development and production of security products and activities.
    • Analyzes and implements organizational security policies and procedures that ensure the physical safety of sensitive information and facilities, and assists with the oversight and maintenance of the organization’s daily physical security operations, leveraging specialized-related knowledge to work independently or concurrently in supporting teams to directly solve complex problems. Implements strategic thinking to address issues, and plans for major operational defense programs.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Active DoD Secret (interim or final). 
    • Working knowledge on Microsoft Office (MS Office) tools to include Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Experience or knowledge of COOP (Continuity of Operations), Physical Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection, and Emergency Management. 
    • Working knowledge of  information security and industrial security. 
    • Education and Experience requirements:
      • High School AND 20yrs experience OR
      • Associates field AND 16yrs experience OR
      • Bachelor in non-directly 15yrs experience OR
      • Bachelor in directly related field AND 10yrs experience OR
      • Masters in non-directly related field AND 10yrs experience OR
      • Masters in directly related field AND 7yrs experience OR
      • Doctorate AND 5yrs experience.

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

    • Sitting for long periods
    • Standing for long periods
    • Ambulate throughout an office
    • Ambulate between several buildings
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
    • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 10 pounds
    • Travel by land or air transportation 5 %
