    NCI: As a Systems Engineer (Functional Engineer) for Army Program Executive Office (PEO) at Fort Belvoir, VA, you will support the Assistant Program Executive Officer for Futures & Integration. You will use your understanding of systems engineering across the full development lifecycle; requirements analysis, documentation, design, development, and test and evaluation in order to leverage that perspective in review and development of related documents. at Fort Belvoir, VA. You will work on complex projects which will require original thinking and new approaches, guides, aids and manages others on a major program, support priorities and ensures that the work products for the group conform to standards.     Highlights of Responsibilities:

    •     Review and advise on requirements documents (CDDs/CPDs).
    •     Review vendor Drawings for accuracy and content against the requirements.
    •     Conduct hardware and system reviews and analysis. Review government and contractor Test Procedures.
    •     Track emerging technology being developed for possible implementation.
    •     Review Milestone documentation.
    •     Perform quantitative analysis to support the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) and other acquisition documents and presentations.
    •     Summarize and synthesize complex analyses into simplified terms and present results to decision makers.
    •     Coordinate the gathering, manipulation, and storage of program related data. SharePoint development/hosting data.
    •     Ensure appropriate systems engineering processes are properly applied during systems development.
    •     Apply systems engineering technical and technical management processes to a functional specialty in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environments.
    •     Communicate complex ideas, analysis, and recommendations to PEO Soldier decision makers.
    •     Ensure appropriate systems engineering processes are properly applied during systems development.
    •     Assist decision makers to validate assumptions.
    •     Plan, evaluate, coordinate, and integrate actions with other staff elements.
    •     Work as part of a team with other members who may not be engineers.




    •  Fundamental understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development Systems (JCIDS) process, force structure, combat developments, capabilities determination, and system testing & evaluation.
    •  Fundamental understanding and application of DoD Configuration Management.
    •  Fundamental understanding and application of Systems Engineering processes.
    •  Familiarity with/develop Data Management.
    •  Fundamental understanding and application of Software Development.
    •  Working knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
    •  Competence in MS Office tools.
    •  Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    •  Education and Experience:
      • High School AND 14yrs translatable experience OR
      • Associates field AND 12yrs translatable experience OR
      • Bachelor in non-directly related field AND 10yrs translatable experience OR
      • Bachelor in directly related field/ENGINEERING AND 5yrs translatable experience OR
      •  Masters in non-directly related field AND 5yrs translatable experience OR
      •  Masters in directly related field/ENGINEERING AND some related course/lab work experience.
    • Active DoD Secret clearance.
    • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) materiel acquisition process, specifically the application of DoD Directive 5000 series of regulations is an advantage to have.
    • Experience in DoD acquisition is an advantage to have.




    • DoD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
    • 5 years overall experience in electronic, mechanical, thermal, optical, materials, quality, aerospace, aeronautical or industrial engineering.
    • Knowledge of acquisition and program management
    • Proficient in MS Office tools
    • Background in understanding basic principles in quality management, Six Sigma principles, ISO 9001 principles, configuration management, and DFAR and DOD 5000 series regulations.
    • Education and Experience requirements:Education and Experience requirements:
    • Bachelor in Industrial Engineering or Optical Engineering AND 5yrs at this level (10yrs progressive)
