    Responsibilities

    NCI: As the Quality Assurance Specialist ( Quality Control Specialist II ), you will hold a critical position on our dynamic team. Your knowledge, experience, and subject matter expertise will ensure the government customer's infrastructure projects are supported to the highest standards and with the utmost professionalism. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributing to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

    • Performs Quality Control (QC) assays, writing and establishing specifications, assisting in the validation of QC assays, and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Works from and follows established operating procedures
    • Examines items for compliance with workmanship standards
    • Identify trends in workmanship and processes
    • Provide reporting and documentation for processes, trends and evaluation
    • Maintain records and update databases, spreadsheets, charts and graphs as required
    • Provide suggested action to improve processes, resolve defect in workmanship, or guide construction efforts towards successful completion to the Project Manager
    • Recognize and report safety hazards to appropriate authorities
    • Perform system testing for Outside Plant and Inside Plant Cabling and report test results to the Project Manager
    • Interpret test results for OSP and ISP cabling systems on request to the Project Manager
    • Assist in arranging meetings to conduct inspections, reviews and surveys pertaining to communications construction
    • Assess internal documentation and processes, conduct surveys to improve system documentation and support communications planning and design efforts

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Active DoD Secret clearance
    • Valid driver's license
    • Active Confined Space Entry certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
    • Active CPR training or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
    • Active BICSI Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
    • 2-3 years expertise for Communications Outside Plant and Inside Plant Premise Cable construction and have knowledge of inside plant, outside plant, and data switches infrastructure
    • Proficient in cable testing and operation of test equipment associated with all cable systems testing and shall possess knowledge of Army Installation Design Criteria and associated Technical Guides such as the I3A TG
    • Intermediate knowledge of the following specifications: TIA/EIA 568 Commercial Building Cabling Standards, NEC 2008, NFPA 70, 800 Articles, BICSI ITSM
