    Responsibilities

    NCI: As the Configuration Management Engineer, you will use your prior experience and expertise to perform document, data and records management for large scale programs. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Develops and maintains the Configuration Management Plan and implementing instructions for programs assigned
    • Administers configuration baseline and interface control through coordination of Engineering Change Proposal/Specification Change processing
    • Administers contract data requirements, preparing drafts, forwarding correspondence and preparing and processing configuration management required data
    • Administers, prepares and maintains the master records for the establishment and change of configuration baselines, the engineering release system, the configuration item development record, including the configuration index and change status listing, and configuration status accounting
    • Conducts functional and physical configuration audits and formal qualification reviews
    • Implements discipline for the entire lifecycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines tro system end-of-life
    • Performs change control and configuration audits
    • Manage SharePoint database of documentation and records.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Security Clearance: Active SECRET
    • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in configuration management and document control.
    • Understanding of Configuration Management and Engineering Change processes
    • Demonstrated ability in document control
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy, technical procedures and government regulations.
    • Ability to audit and assess performance to Configuration Management policy; collect and maintain Configuration Management process metrics
    • Strong communication skills to convey technical information and to complete project assignments, often by negotiating shared resources.
    • Able to provide verbal and written recommendations to leadership, professionally interface with internal and external stakeholders
    • Team oriented, with demonstrated leadership ability to organize and work with others to drive to targeted outcomes. Ability to train others
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, technical and nontechnical in nature
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite
    • Critical thinker, ability to drive continuous improvement.
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Motivated self-starter.
    • Contractual Education and Experience Requirement:
      • Bachelor in non-Directly related field AND 10 years
      • Bachelor in Directly related field AND 5 years
      • Masters in non-Directly related field AND 5 years
      • Masters in Directly related field AND 0 years

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Education and experience in Department of Defense acquisition, and program management
    • Knowledge of MIL-STD-961 and MIl-HDBK-61
