    NCI: As the Quality Assurance Engineer, you will have an opportunity to serve as the reliability expert for assigned complex individual Soldier clothing and survivability equipment on one of the commodity teams within a product manager office in Project Manager Soldier Protection and Individual Equipment (PM SPIE) at Fort Belvoir, VA. The complex and multidisciplinary nature of the problems encountered and the limited technical guidelines and precedents require a professional with QA education and experience, with professional knowledge in chemical, mechanical, industrial or materials science engineering fields.




    • Determine the optimum approach for implementing quality and reliability for assigned program, and assuring that all QA efforts are carried through to completion.
    • Ensure only high quality systems, which meet their operational performance requirements, are fielded to Soldiers; makes decisions in conjunction with Assistant Product Managers (APMs) and commodity team on product acceptability.
    • Assure quality and reliability are considered in the acquisition of all systems procured by the PM.
    • Ensure that corrective actions are effective, and that all fielded equipment is of acceptable quality, when problems are encountered.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Travel is expected to be 25% of duty time.



    • Security Clearance: Active Secret
    • Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor in non-Directly related field AND 10 years
    • Bachelor in Directly related field AND 5 years
    • Masters in non-Directly related field AND 5 years
    • Masters in Directly related field AND 0 years



    • Prior experience working in or with military environment.
    • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles.




    • This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

    • Ambulate between several buildings
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
    • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 20 pounds
