    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for the oversight, development and execution of strategic public affairs programs and campaigns leveraging all available communications conduits and emerging technologies to most effectively communicate the PEO Soldier mission and philosophy.
    • Participates in the planning and decision-making sessions pertaining to outreach activities of interest to the Public Affairs Office. 
    • Plan, develops and executes communications products for a wide- array of special events such as, but not limited to, conference, workshops and trade shows. Coordinates such efforts with other contractor personnel and government personnel in support of such events.
    • With the direction of the Chief, PAO drafts taskers to the operations and Plans Directorate in support of specific PAO initiatives and other duties such as those below in support of PAO overarching mission.  
    • Researches, prepares and disseminate news releases, articles, web based material and photographs on PEO Soldier Programs and Products for uses in military and civilian news media.
    • Prepares briefing, speeches, talking points, and articles for presentation to senior Army and DOD leaders and key audiences internal and external to PEO Soldier.  
    • Assists the PEO in communicating the command’s strategic direction to the entire PEO Soldier community.  
    • Plans, coordinates, and direct a proactive national media relations and community relations strategies promoting an understanding of the mission and contributions of PEO Soldier to the general public.  
    • Plans and coordinates liaison to various local and national organizations and civic groups.
    • Assists in the production and direction of video and multimedia presentations. 
    • Plans, develops, and provides media training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. 

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Active DoD Secret clearance
    • Familiarity with Army Tactical Network
    • High School/GED AND > 20 years
    • Associates > 16 years
    • Bachelors in non Directly Related Field > 15 years
    • Bachelors in Directly Related Field > 10 years
    • Masters in non Directly Related Field > 10 years
    • Masters in Directly Related Field > 7 years
    • Doctorate > 5 years
